  • Queen's South Africa Medal issued to 9207 Tpr Henry Josiah Rogers, 10th NZMR Contingent. Rogers sailed with the 10th NZMR Contingent on the S.S. Norfolk, arriving just a few days before the end of war, qualifying for the medal and clasp 'South Africa 1902'

     

    Henry 'Harry' Josiah Rogers was born at New Plymouth, New Zealand on 11th January 1875, son of Josiah and Mary Rogers. He married Edith Bunbury in 1901, and worked as a labourer and farmer in Taranaki and Rangitikei districts. He died at Wanganui on 13th September 1949.

     

    Medal is correctly impressed 9207 Pte H. J. ROGERS. 2nd REGt 10th N.Z. CONT: Medal and clasp confirmed on WO100/295.
